GIANT Martial Arts Instructors

Master Young Seol Ryoo

Our friendly Master originates from South Korea and began training martial arts in the mid 1970's, well over 40 years of studying and teaching various martial arts, predominantly Hapkido. His benevolent nature presents peace and harmony yet he has a formidable arsenal of techniques to share. He has strong affiliations with Hapkido's largest organisation the Korea Hapkido Federation (KHF) which ensures purity and unity for our academy. Grandmaster Ryoo is commended by many Koreans and Australian martial artists alike for evolving his Hapkido and constructing a professional and effective training curriculum for all ages! GIANT Instructors Giorgio and Anthony have trained regularly with the Grandmaster since 2004, Instructor Anthony has been the Grandmaster's longest serving full time student. Student Leadership Team

*Note: Student Leaders are not Instructors, they are students who have demonstrated good values and qualities to be invited to the Student Leader Program (internship) to become future instructors. This program is broken up into three levels known as the SWAT (Special Winning Attitude Team), STORM (Special Team of Role Models) and the Mentor level. Each level is broken up into stages of tasks on and off the mat that the student must complete to enhance their leadership skills that will one day make them a great instructor and community leader. Whilst on the internship they assist the children classes under the guidance of the Instructors.

Adrian Ga

Adrian has a wealth of experience in Martial Arts. He started training in South Korea in 2000 in Taekwondo and the South Korean Special Forces military art known as Teukgong Musul. He served in the special forces as a shield man, sniper and squad leader. In addition, Instructor Giorgio graded Adrian to Black Belt in Gongkwon Yusul (Combat Hapkido) in 2014, however Adrian is in fact ranked higher than both senior instructors Giorgio & Anthony as a 4th Degree in Hapkido. His humble and friendly nature make him a joy to train with and he is highly respected at GIANT.

He is accredited currently with:

Eve Andersson

Eve is the first female at GIANT to achieve a Black Belt! She inspires all women to stand up and break through!

She began her Hapkido training in 2010 and achieved her 1st Degree Black Belt from Grandmaster Ryoo in 2016. Eve also holds a Blue Belt in Taekwondo. She is very kind and respectful yet she can still put you in a nasty joint lock.

Her attitude to training is always open minded, humble and wanting to learn new things. She is very approachable and always keen to help on and off the mat.

She also currently trains in Muay Thai Kickboxing and Boxing.

Nils Blichfeldt-Pedersen

Nils has had years of training in the Martial Arts starting with Kung Fu when he was young. His training extended to learning the art of Viet Vo Dao (Vietnamese Martial Arts) for many years and has experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Gracie Barra).

Along with all this experience he also started training in Hapkido in 2009 and over the years has helped teach alongside Instructor Giorgio at the Marrickville location between 2012-2014. He trained very hard, was consistently attending 5 classes per week and together with his previous experience was one of the quickest students of Grandmaster Ryoo to receive his Hapkido 1st Degree Black Belt in 2012 (just under 4 years).

Nils is very motivating to train with as his wealth of knowledge and friendly manner rubs off. We are lucky to have him helping out the beginner students at GIANT.

Pavle Cajic

Pavle is the real GIANT, being the tallest student to ever reach Black Belt. He stands at an amazing 200cm tall.

As shown in the photo many of the students look up to him!

However, he really is a gentle GIANT and has always shown respect and patience when learning and teaching. He began his training in 2009 with Instructor Giorgio together with his brother Misha and received his 1st Degree black belt in 2016.

Pavle is also a music teacher and has a strong passion for the Piano, Instructor Anthony is one of his students in music.

Misha Cajic

Misha alongside his brother started Hapkido training 2009. Although not as tall, Misha is quick and nimble and has always enjoyed learning new techniques.

Misha received his 1st Degree Black Belt in 2016 alongside his brother and Instructor Giorgio who was going for his 3rd degree. It was a great event where Instructor and student graded together, pictured below.

Along with success in their training, brothers Misha & Pavle are astute academic achievers, both achieving high 90 scores in the High School Certificate.

Misha is a keen high flyer and is on his way to becoming a professional pilot.
