Grappling Nationals in Melbourne! What a weekend!

So proud of our team of GIANTS who had the courage to step on these mats.

Here is the brief rundown of results:

Luca won his first match by submission but lost on points to the competitor who won the division.

Chris G was dominating his quarter final on a point difference of 12-2 but then got caught in a leglock.

Jeremy had a tough and even quarter final match however lost to a controversial decision to the competitor who went on to win the division. He was extremely brave to also compete in the absolute open weight category and lost on points to a competitor with a 30kg greater weight difference. He didn't give in to a submission.

Coach Giorgio won gold in his weight division by choke submission. He also competed in absolute open weight and although he caught a nice takedown early, it wasn't enough to finish and he lost on points against a competitor with a 20kg greater weight difference giving him a bronze medal.

Some won, some lost, lots of learning - that is the joy of sport . Having courage and not giving up is the real win!

All in all, a great weekend with good food, gym, sauna, jacuzzi, shopping, meeting Lachlan Giles and wrestling.
